Renew | New Subscription | Manage Subscription | PDF Form The American Economic Association publications:American Economic Review (AER) is among the nation’s oldest and most respected scholarly journals in the economics profession. Visit www.aeaweb.org/aer/. The American Economic Association (AEA) has been committed to maintaining low annual subscription prices for our journals. We do this by maintaining a large subscription base, and by keeping administrative costs very low. We accomplish the latter in part by requiring advanced payment in U.S. dollars for all orders, which eliminates costs of a credit department, bad debts, collections, and international money exchange. We do not offer discounts to agencies. The only invoices we provide are mailed directly to each subscriber. To further simplify distribution and reduce costs, all institutional subscriptions to AEA publications include the package of seven AEA journals (31 issues). The AEA journals are among the leading journals in economics, are among the most costly to produce, yet are sold at the lowest price per page among all economics journals (see Ted Bergstrom’s website: http://www.econ.ucsb.edu/~tedb/Journals/jpricing.html). Our American Economic Review (AER), now in its 100th year, was accessed by close to 4 million persons in 2008 through JSTOR, making it one of the top-five most popular journals on JSTOR.
